Privacy Policy
Last updated: 3 July 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Save My Seet (“Save My Seet”, “we”, “us” or “our”) collects, uses, shares and protects your personal information when you use our website and services (the “Platform”). We are committed to protecting your privacy in line with the Protection of Personal Information Act, 2013 (POPIA) of South Africa.
By using the Platform, you agree to the collection and use of your information in accordance with this policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Platform.
1. Who we are (Responsible Party)
For the purposes of POPIA, the “responsible party” is Sakhile Motoro, trading as Save My Seet.
- Information Officer: Sakhile Motoro
- Contact email: motorosakhile@gmail.com
- Location: South Africa
2. What Save My Seet is
Save My Seet is an online booking marketplace that connects clients with independent barbers, hairstylists and nail technicians (“Providers”). We are not a payment processor — no payments are taken on the Platform. All payment for services happens directly between you and the Provider, in person.
3. Information we collect
We collect the following personal information, depending on how you use the Platform:
- Account information — your name, email address, phone number (if you provide it), and your role (customer or provider).
- Booking information — the services you book or queue for, the date and time, the Provider, and any notes you add.
- Provider business information (if you are a Provider) — your business name, description, category, address, suburb/area, operating hours, services and prices, staff, and any logo or cover images you upload.
- Queue information — if you join a walk-in queue, the name and phone number you supply so the Provider can call you forward.
- Reviews — ratings and comments you leave about a completed booking.
- Technical information — essential cookies used to keep you signed in, and standard server logs (such as IP address and browser type) generated when you access the Platform.
4. How we use your information
- To create and manage your account and authenticate you.
- To let you search for Providers, make bookings, and join queues.
- To let Providers manage their business, bookings and queues.
- To send you transactional notifications about your bookings — confirmations, cancellations, reminders and “you’re up next” queue alerts — by email and/or SMS.
- To display reviews and ratings on Provider profiles.
- To operate, maintain, secure and improve the Platform.
Our legal grounds for processing under POPIA include your consent, the performance of our agreement with you, and our legitimate interests in operating the Platform.
5. Information shared with Providers
When you book with or join the queue of a Provider, that Provider can see the information necessary to serve you — typically your name, the service booked, the date and time, and (for queues or where you supply it) your phone number. Providers are independent third parties responsible for their own handling of your information.
6. Third-party service providers (Operators)
We use trusted third parties (“operators” under POPIA) to run the Platform. They process personal information only on our instructions:
- Supabase — database, authentication and file storage.
- Vercel — website hosting.
- SendGrid (Twilio) — sending transactional emails.
- Clickatell — sending transactional SMS messages.
- Google Maps— “Get directions” links open Google Maps; we do not share your personal information with Google for this.
Some of these providers may process or store information outside South Africa. Where this happens, we take reasonable steps to ensure your information is afforded a comparable level of protection, as required by POPIA. We do not sell your personal information.
7. How we protect your information
We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your personal information, including encrypted connections (HTTPS), access controls, row-level security on our database, and hashed passwords. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
8. How long we keep your information
We keep your personal information for as long as your account is active and as needed to provide the Platform, comply with our legal obligations, resolve disputes and enforce our agreements. You may request deletion of your account and associated personal information (see your rights below).
9. Your rights under POPIA
You have the right to:
- Ask what personal information we hold about you and request access to it.
- Ask us to correct or update information that is inaccurate or out of date.
- Ask us to delete your information, subject to any legal retention obligations.
- Object to the processing of your information in certain circumstances.
- Withdraw consent where we rely on it (this will not affect processing already carried out).
- Lodge a complaint with the Information Regulator (South Africa) at inforegulator.org.za.
To exercise any of these rights, contact our Information Officer at motorosakhile@gmail.com.
10. Cookies
We use only essential cookies that are strictly necessary to keep you signed in and to operate the Platform securely. We do not use advertising or third-party tracking cookies.
11. Children
The Platform is not intended for children under 18 without the consent of a parent or guardian. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information without such consent, please contact us and we will take steps to remove it.
12. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated version on this page and change the “Last updated” date above. Your continued use of the Platform after changes take effect means you accept the updated policy.
13. Contact us
If you have any questions about this Privacy Policy or how we handle your information, contact our Information Officer at motorosakhile@gmail.com.
